Nanny Housekeeper, 3 children, Gosforth NE3

  • Location: Gosforth
  • Type: Permanent
  • Salary: £11 per hour, depending on skill & experience
  • Ref: SP29

Notable Nannies are delighted to be working with a family in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne to help them find a Nanny/Housekeeper to join their family,

The family have 3 young children, a boy aged 3, a girl aged 1 and a new baby due in the next few weeks. The successful candidate will be there to assist mum to ensure the kids are happy and the house is run efficiently.

  • The children’s wellbeing is the most important part of the role, ensuring they are meeting milestones, working on emotional development and being challenged are all key parts of the role
  • Helping with children’s educational goals that are sent home from school
  • Outdoor activities / free play and structured indoor play (crafts, games, baking, etc.) away from the screen are very important to us as a family
  • Planning and preparing healthy snacks and meals for the children. This could include everything from ordering / collecting the groceries, meal calendar planning, preparing, serving etc.
  • Ensuring the children’s rooms / laundry / bathrooms are tidy. While also teaching the children it is their responsibility to also help keep them tidy.
  • Helping with morning / dinner / bed routines during working hours
  • General housekeeping
The family are looking for someone to help maintain the general housekeeping of the entire house as well during ‘down times’ from the children. The family do have a weekly cleaner so this is an example of things that can be done during down times.
  • Kitchen cleaning: cupboards, worktops, sinks, floor, pantry, fridge, general tidy
  • Washrooms: toilets, countertops cleaned, rubbish removed, general tidy, ensure the children’s bathroom is clean, laundry done etc.
  • Main areas of home: Hoover, floors washed, windows (when the children’s finger prints are everywhere)
  • Toy room: Toys cleaned and put away, helping with toy rotation to ensure new things are out to stimulate, organise books, cleaning toys and bath toys
  • Children’s bedding / children’s clothing cleaned / baby nappies cleaned

The family do not have a daily schedule available yet, we would hope for the nanny to be flexible for the first month for everyone to get into a routine to see what schedule would work best for everyone.
  • The nanny would be required to do 1 evening of babysitting per week on average, this could be a weekday or an weekend evening
  • The family would like the nanny to come and help on a Sunday - If the nanny would prefer 2 days off in a row, just let us know and we can ensure this is always worked into a schedule.
An example schedule could be some variety of:
  • Monday OFF
  • Tuesday 11-7pm
  • Wednesday 12-8pm
  • Thursday 8.30-5.30pm
  • Friday 8.30-5.30pm
  • Saturday OFF
  • Sunday 3-9pm
  • On average 35 hours per week
  • There will always be the option for more hours when available this is the minimum amount of hours per week that we will include in the contract, that the nanny would be required to work / be paid for. The example schedules show more than the 35 hours already.
  • Agreed upon in advance, the employer can amend the average weekly hours to have additional hours one week, less the next if, for example the family is way travelling without the nanny.
  • Base salary would be based on experience per hour for first 3 months as a probation period, after review increase by 25-50p per hour and then an annual review thereafter.
  • overnight rates / daily rates / weekly rates for joining us on trips would be negotiated in the contract
