Notable Nannies are looking for a happy, nurturing and energetic nanny with excellent childcare experience to work with a family in Westminster (SW1P) to provide care for their 2 children aged 5 and 3 years. The nanny will be working in tandem with mum as part of a team to ensure the best care, interaction and support for the children, especially when going on outings.
The role will involve sole charge care of one or both children, to fit within the dynamics of the family. Mum is a stay at home mum and would like support to look after one child, whilst she is doing something with the other child (as an example, the nanny to look after little girl whilst mum is home schooling the oldest and vice versa.)
The family are able to offer a minimum of 40 hours a week to the right candidate, essential hours being Monday to Friday from 11.30am-7.30pm with some flexibility to cover additional circumstances which may arise. Finding the right person to fit with the family is the most important element to get right, and if the candidate requires more than 40 hours, the family can facilitate this.
The nanny will be responsible for attending to all the daily needs of the children, keeping them safe, happy, occupied whilst being responsible for their wellbeing, emotionally and socially. The nanny will need to be able to plan a variety of age appropriate fun and activities to encourage learning and development in addition to activities which will support the children with reaching those important milestones. The job will also include children's duties where time allows (this entails keeping the children's play areas, toys, and bedrooms tidy and organised, changing beds, doing the laundry and ironing for the children), preparing meals for the children etc.
The family are looking for someone to start with them on a long term basis as soon as possible, when their current nanny leaves. It is important that the nanny is happy working on a sole charge basis whilst mum is at home, as well as someone who is happy to work in tandem with mum as part of a tag team. This is not a live in position. A driver is not required.
This position would suit someone who is self-motivated, energetic and active, with a firm but fair manner, someone who is able to support and nurture the children with love, kindness and encouragement.
The family are looking for someone who:
* has excellent experience with children in the early stages of starting school, with the ability to support with transitions whilst being mindful of the appropriate stages of child development
* is able to support and encourage confidence, teaching life skills and independence whilst being an excellent role model
* is passionate about childcare, supporting with the children's learning and development
* has excellent English language abilities, both spoken and understanding as the family are Italian and are keen for the children to be confidently bi-lingual.
* is very much COVID aware and mindful of their surroundings
There are no pets in the household, and there are no known allergies or additional needs that the nanny will need to monitor and be aware of.
Excellent communication skills are essential as is the need for flexibility, reliability, mutual respect and transparency.
Mum is fairly relaxed and understands that boundaries and mutual expectations are required when the nanny is with the children and mum will not micro manage the nanny whilst at work.
