Nanny, 3 days a week, East Dulwich (SE22)

Notable Nannies are working with a family in East Dulwich with 2 children who will be aged 2 years and 3 months when the job commences at the end of May/beginning of June 2021. This is a long term position working with a fun and friendly family, initially working in tandem with mum whilst she is on maternity leave leading to sole charge when mum returns to work in 9-12months time.

The family are looking for a happy, nurturing and energetic nanny with excellent baby and toddler experience to provide care for the children, working as part of a team to ensure the best care, interaction and support for the children. The nanny will be needed to work 3 days a week, preferably Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with hours potentially being 8.30am-4.30pm (24 hours a week). The hours may extend once mum returns to work. Flexibility would be helpful to cover additional circumstances which may arise.  

Typically, the nanny will take care of all the needs of both children as required, planning a variety of age appropriate fun and activities to encourage learning and development in addition to activities which will support them with reaching those important milestones. This is in addition to supporting with routines, and general care of baby, preparing bottles, changing nappies. The job will also include children’s duties where time allows (this entails keeping the children's play areas, toys, and bedrooms tidy and organised, changing beds, doing the laundry and ironing for the children), preparing meals for the children etc.

The nanny will be responsible for assisting with the daily needs of both children, keeping them safe, happy, occupied and being responsible for their wellbeing, emotionally and socially. 

This position would suit someone who is self-motivated, energetic and active, with a firm but fair manner, someone who is able to support and nurture the children with love, kindness and encouragement. This is in addition to someone who can offer reliability, consistency and a flexible commitment to fit within the family dynamics.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has excellent experience with babies and toddlers, with the ability to support with transitions whilst being mindful of the appropriate stages of child development
  • is able to support and encourage confidence, teaching life skills and independence whilst being an excellent role model  
  • is passionate about childcare, supporting with the children’s learning and development
  • is forward thinking in relation to the planning of age appropriate games, activities, outings, meals for the week ahead
  • is very much COVID aware and mindful of their surroundings
There are no pets in the household, and there are no known allergies or additional needs that the nanny will need to monitor and be aware of. 
This is not a live in position. A driver is not required.

Excellent communication skills are essential as is the need for flexibility, reliability, mutual respect and transparency.
